Search: Find events by GUID of the object.
Every object in the domain has a different GUID and it is a powerful way to search for all the events for the object. One reason you want to search by GUID is that there can be many objects in the domain with the same name. For example, if there are 10 group policy objects named "New Group Policy Object", you want a way to search for only one of the group policy objects, and searching by GUID will be a good way to only search for events for this object.
PREREQUISITES
The name of the object.
ESTIMATED QUERY TIME
<1 second.
METHOD 1 (Advanced Search)
1. Find the GUID
of the object by typing the object name in the
GUID Search Field and click Search.
2. Enter the correct GUID of the object in the Target DN
field and click Submit.
When looking for the GUID of group policy objects, they are all in the same location so it is better to find at least one event where you have the correct event for the object you want to search by. When you click on the event to get more details, you will get a link to search by the GUID of the object.
